I got started a little later than I would have liked, but got up to Payson around 4:30pm. It was just starting to SNOW! It was beautiful! There is a little cafe called the "BeeLine Cafe" in Payson that my grandad and great uncle go to every Friday night. We ended up going. As I was sitting there I couldn't help but feel loved. It was amazing! The people who own/work in the cafe all know my grandad by name. When we walked in everyone said hello and I was introduced to them. Through the whole evening, they all remembered my name. There is one lady named Linda who is a riot! We had sodas at our table before we even got 3 feet into the cafe, that's how well she knows my grandad. I really would love to live in a place like that once. It was amazing to me. Much different than any city life I"ve ever experienced!
When we got back to the house, the snow kept falling and I was able to start on my leather tooling lesson. Grandad had purchased a key holder kit for me to make and decorate for my first time. It was hard work. I had to make sure the leather was dry enough (but still wet) before I started working with it. I had to put down a pattern, cut the leather, and then pound the leather with different metal tools until it resembled what it was supposed to look like. I loved it! On Saturday we did the detail work and then I dyed the leather. Once it was dry enough I learned how to do the leather lacing on the sides and then we were done. I enjoyed myself so much, I am going to purchase other items and figure out at my own house how to do them.
